DESCRIPTION  

In summer 2010 Dirk Brossé was appointed music director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. During his inauguration concert that same year, he gave a musical surprise to the city in which he was to work for the next decade: the Philadelphia Overture. This work is dedicated to the city – America’s first capital – and to its people. In it we hear the energy, the power, the freedom and the vitality of multi ethnic Philadelphia: the City of Brotherly Love….
