Dirk Brossé
Sea Life Aquarium (aka La Vie Aquatique)
for Symphony Orchestra
2010
7’
DESCRIPTION
This work was composed after a visit to Antwerp Zoo, Belgium’s first and oldest zoo. It gives musical expression to the wonderful underwater world of the aquarium. We hear the playful splash of the tub gurnard, the serpentine grace of the slippery eel, the trek of gang of unruly flatfish, the dreamy mystical mating ballet of the seahorses and the mustering of an army of combat-ready crustaceans.
